I dunno, the idea that education only exists as state-funded job training doesn't seem to be working out so well. Maybe provide students with hope for a non-fascist future on a planet that hasn't been destroyed by climate change by getting out there and doing those things?

No. It sucks. Don't fall into this trap. It takes all of the joy and creativity out of elective classes. Provide access to career based classes and programs through your local community college. Develop human beings not laborers at our schools.
