It made it's budget back. It's very low $100M budget. Which is how much it cost when it was supposed to be a Disney+ exclusive to begin with.

But then again, what was the marketing cost?

Marketing usually costs double the budget of a film. Though in this remake's case it may be more, since Disney has been advertising this film like crazy, even making a life-sized Stitch animatronic (possibly more than one) to make random promotional appearances.

Looking at the box office, people still went to see it, even if it stinks. It's because Disney movies usually sell billions by default, quality be damned.

Well, I won't go to see the one you mentioned. But I will not promise that I won't go see any more remakes of old movies that were themselves adaptations of old fairy tales or fantasy stories. Because my fairy tale obsession impels me.
