I assume the "barely a scratch" is a reference to his ear notch

but she believes the same thing that happened to her caused it..

so what is it..?

all of Ares cuts are clean lines where the body part just.. stops.
aside from the eye scars implying she was scratched(?)

alternatively amputation?

Achilles notch is angled cause it was a mistake. a slip of Clair's hand

I'd be willing to say what happened to Ares was intentional and that's why the cut offs are so clean

I hope we see her again..

There are certain poses where the ear and tail chunks line up so perfectly it seems like she lost both at the same time from the same thing, like someone accidentally wiping away part of a drawing or cutting the corner off with scissors

I think about the panel in 192 where there's a layer that seems to have big chunks taken out of it. I've always thought they were a side effect of Clair's process in some way, like maybe she needed the raw materials, and maybe that matters as much for the residents as it does for the trees

I always felt like the diamond shapes represented facets, like of a cut gem and facets of a personality. maybe they show up when that character is really shining at playing their role

I do love Ares assumptions here, and Achilles ability to be ignored is working in favour for them.
She's assumed something went wrong for Achillies to come down from his layer which i think tells us alot about what happened to hers and herself.
She implies when others show up they're normally hurt.

She also seems to have a fair bit of knowledge, knowing about Achilles myth for example, and her personality is very different to Achilles but sorta feels like Mars a lil
She seems like she would get along VERY well with someone else...

Having some absolute fucking Thoughts:tm: about the similarities in her appearance to Mars and the name connection...

I wonder if there's "patterns" that Clair has to work off of for who she puts in halo head, and if so, how many iterations away is Ares? ...Why did she get replaced?
