I'd say these left the most impression (I'd call errant kingdom my favorite one if it didn't get progressively worse after the 5th ch, wtnc is much weaker plot wise but at least feels whole)

Nothing wrong with that. I think it's one of the most ground-breaking games of all time. It really did a number on everyone back then (me included) with the subversive storytelling approach. Not unproblematic but that doesn't diminish the impact it rightfully had on the VN genre & gaming in general.

My favourite Anime is Clannad. This Anime has its roots in a visual novel. So I would recommend that.
It may not be the best VN quality wise (tbh I ddidnt play a lot of VNs) but it has an very good story.
