Tsunami has his teeth cleaned, so he was weighed before anesthesia. He came in at 9 pounds 13 ounces. He has always struggled with being underweight for his size
I haven't I don't really have the money for that. I've decided he's the "big ol' dumpster cat from near a nuclear power plant so maybe a mutant" variety. Hahahaha! It's wild watching him go from so small to so big so fast.
You and some others inspired and reminded me of the joy of rescuing a kitty. Today I adopted from the Humane Society and I pick her up Saturday. I cannot wait! Fun pics forthcoming. Here is Ocho and Tang and my tree. Please follow us!
This is so exciting and I am very glad to hear it! Ocho and Tang are so cute and your tree is lovely!!! Is this new friend a kitten or an adult? If you need any assistance with integrating her with your clowder, I'm happy to offer advice.
She is the runt of the litter and very, very tiny. I adore her so much already, GF. She will be so loved and spoiled and well-cared for. Indoor only and I have a huge catio, which used to be a screened in porch. I'm going to take her everywhere on a harness and leash so she can socialize
Not a kitten. Only my grown ones. If you are not a shy person give me a call. We can bond over our adoration for cats, and all animals and I love fire as well. As a chemist, I love to set my hands on fire for my students and have always want to try breathing fire 484 484 8174 Andrea
One even had to have his jaw removed trying to save him. It's the fire art that kills the most people, not just performers but people in the audience. I created a safety program for firedancers (License to Burn) and I don't think there's a way to fire breathe safely. I always discourage it.
Don't try fire breathing! I really try to discourage people from that. It's the most dangerous of the fire arts and it's known to cause cancer. Fuel is cancer causing and our mouths are porous mucus membranes! It allows those chemical right into your blood. I know many fire breathers with cancer.
She must be in the bedroom, but I'm in wheelchair and can't get on the floor to look under furniture. She hasn't meowed or hissed; been home about 4 hours. I was going to get an adult, but in the end I decided on a kitten b/c I want her to be social and to get along and hopefully love the others
She may stay hidden for a long time, like 3 weeks. If she does, don't take it personally. They spend their first few weeks observing before they start to feel safe.
Oh, okay. I put her in the bedroom to have some privacy and quiet and chill. I'm not going to force her to do anything. I'll put a litter pan and her food dishes and toys in there. Tonight I guess I should shut the door so I know she's safe? She can meow if she needs/wants out
If you can, I'd sleep in that room or lay on the bed and play on your computer. Let her observe you while you're resting. That's a way to win a cat's trust. Sleeping in front of them is vulnerable and shows trust.
I am happy for any advice. Right now I cannot find her. I put her in my bedroom and left the door open. My other two cats are in the house as well. I let them meet her; Tang was scared but curious, he'll be fine with her, and Ocho sniffed her and said "yak" and ran off. I
Pay lots of attention to the other cats, especially where this cat can see. It will make the other ones less jealous and show the newbie how fun attention and love are.
Oh, this I knew, from bringing home Tang to Ocho. He gave me a look like a man would if he caught you sleeping with his best friend. He was sick w/jealousy for a very, very long time. I am making a big fuss over Ochie. He's my heart and I don't want him to feel overlooked.
I would let her explore and hide and observe for a while. I usually try to stuff the spaces under dressers/beds/couches so they can't get under there and create higher places for them to hang and observe. I think that makes them feel safe and allows them to observe.
Yes, I've had kittens before, but not in a long time, since Ocho and that was 9 years ago. Also never integrated a kitten into a two adult cat home. And she's female and they are both male.
