I just sent a link to Sheba's story to a friend who lives in the Raleigh-Durham area, not far from Pittsboro; she is currently fully supplied with kitties, but she has friends so fingers crossed!

They did find a home for her I am happy to report! I know what you mean about her little face. That little face just tore my heart up. She is an only cat again with a man who dotes on her. (We had found a back up home with other cats if it didn't work out but luckily it did.)

I take better care of myself because of the cats. I can’t bear the thought of them having to move. I’d leave my house to someone who’d love and take care of them. It’s their forever home. I feel ya, I worry about it too.

My cousin lives in NC and does a lot with animal rescues there. I am passing this information to her to see if she may know of someone. Hopefully Sheba finds a good home very soon!

Thank you! Even a foster would be wonderful, even if they can't keep her. She doesn't know other animals and the shelter would make things even harder on her. Poor girl needs a safe place to land and heal from losing her human.

I got an update on Sheba. She is with a medically knowledgeable foster who is treating her hypothyroidism and she is putting on weight but she still has a ways to go. She seems content. She gets a couple of hours of lap time a day and seems to enjoy just napping in a lap. It's slow but she's healing

if they can't find a home I am willing to give it a college try if they can transport to Tennessee (near knoxville). while I have other animals, I am the only human . I could put her in my office if she needs alone time. (when I'm not working). i am good about gaining trust from animals w trust issu

Awe I hope she gets a great home! I would take her in a heart beat but I imagine my animals would stress her out. If I don't end up taking fmla I would be happy to donate to her adoption fee.

Thank you! Katie Kirkland has offered to foster her if they don't find someone without other animals but she's all the way in Knoxville. Still, she could be Sheba's only hope. If we don't find someone closer/cat-free we'll need to figure that out. I hope we can get this sad girl somewhere soon.

Going to the veterinarian. No one has this cat's records or knows what vet they went to. I'm realizing that's an important thing for us to keep in case something like this happens to us.
