Oh, I'm so sorry. And here you're taking time to answer my questions about Atlas! You're so generous.
I hope it isn't serious and little Comfort is feeling well soon.
It's so hard when they don't feel good...
She seems a little better this morning. She's gotten up on the bed, twice, which is kinda high and she's pooped and peed in the litter box. I think she's responding to the clavamox. I hope she keeps getting better. She's beside me and purring now.
My Kali gets a UTI every winter. We do clavamox and cranberry drops. The drops really work well. We use HomeoPet UTI drops, available on Amazon for $18.
Clavamox is even better! Is chicken broth an option? I just boil a piece of chicken w fat in it! It has brought many of my cats back to life through the years in addition to meds.
She's urinated on a couple of pillows and she's barely eating or drinking and she's wobbly when she walks. I'm treating it like a UTI, which she has had many times before so I had medicine here for it, and she may be improving or that may be wishful thinking. I don't trust my judgment.
15. I've spent all kinds of money on blood panels that all come back normal but this pattern of urinating on things and then not eating keeps happening. I am afraid it's kidney failure but her bloodwork hasn't ever indicated that.
Odd the BUN and Creatinine, is the other one SDMA? don't reflect kidney disfunction. Yes, the wobbliness and lack of appetite, plus being a senior girl, sounds like it could be kidney related. Are you able to keep her hydrated?
I agree with your thinking! That is exactly what I would do! Urinating in unusual places is a good sign. You know pretty litter is supposed to tell you if you can get her to use that or toss some on a spot that's wet and see what color it turns...
We have a vet appointment next Tuesday. It was the earliest we could get. I think she seems more perky today so she may be responding. If things get worse, I'm just going to go wait in a vet office.
Lacey & I are sending our best to you & your girl, hoping your treatment efforts will pay off over the weekend. (But Iβd still get her checked at vet next week. So many things lurking to harm our fur babies.) πΎ
