Pātai e hoa, the coalition agreement is for the government to pass this bill "as soon as practicable". How many submissions would it take to make the govt change course? I'm concerned they will just power ahead regardless of public opinion. Do you think it's possible to actually stop the bill?

While SC submissions are absolutely not primarily about numbers, but about hearing from experts and anyone affected (us all, here) - in this case (as for TPB) the sheer weight of opposition would give them a clear picture of how significant their decisions are.

If you want to stop the bill you’ll need to convince the government that they will not be reelected as a result of passing it. And/or convince government MPs to ‘cross the floor’ and vote against their party.
That’s all they care about.

Kia ora! Other coalition parties want to propose changes, so the Bill will probs morph (weaken? 🤞🏻). To be able to say xxx,xxx submissions were opposed to RSB in its entirety, is an influence on that (& on NZ media!). It also goes down in history for our moko ✊🏻 We can't control #CoC but we can resist
