I stared at the space on my wall
Where the tooth fairy said she would call
It’s been fifty years
Of acid filled fears
Maybe she’ll show up with an 8 ball
"Dude, wait, what if there are... like... a bunch of Greeks hiding inside that horse statue, and they're just waiting for us to open the doors and let them inside? Would that be tucked up or what hahahaha"
Does any1 know the name of the French author, who came off LSD to prove that he could write just as much and of equal quality than on it?
He failed miserably, something like 30 pages to 1 was the difference
More like 80% of classic literature is just people needing to pay their bills, looking at what other people wrote, and putting their own spin on it in the hopes that someone would throw money at them for writing it. Sure, there's a nugget of new ideas here and there, but mostly it's 'pay my rent'.
I once went to an art exhibit of work done in asylums by patients before psychiatric drugs and they were drawing the madness in their heads. Fascinating.
Fitzgerald would lock himself in a room for a few days, medicate himself to somewhere else and that explains things like “The Diamond as Big as the Ritz.”
