I'm a boss. I fucking love remote work. I can boss around (respond to questions and give feedback) multiple people at the same time while also being in a meeting I need to be in. The real reason bosses don't like remote work is b/c they have to actually have to do their jobs.

I'm being criticised for multi-tasking. Which is my favourite corporate argument against WFH. I can help a customer/client AND support a colleague (supposedly my actual role) at the same time instead of picking just one task. I am an awful person according to my annual review.

I live in Singapore which is practically an entirely walkable city and I already hated having to commute for past jobs and school; I can't imagine how tedious and demoralizing it is elsewhere!

I live clear across the city from where I work. Commute time on the bus (don’t have/can’t afford a car) turns an 8 hour work day into a 13 hour work day. It *definitely* affects morale.

When I was still in office, it was common to see one or two team members that would just float around the office most of the day, getting coffee, chatting up people, etc. They weren't working.

I'm more productive working remotely, since I can dedicate myself entirely to a task without distraction.

I've only ever had two commute based jobs that the commute was good for me. One, I was close enough I could bike to work, and there was a shower at the office, so I started my day exercised and showered. The other was a ~80 mile drive, in summer, and my car is a convertible. Which says it all.
