It's been more of a headache than it should have been because they don't make it easy to find out how to request a PAC code, and also my grandfather apparently saves all his contacts to the SIM rather than the phone (probably not a bad idea normally, he breaks about 2 phones a year...).

It has physical buttons, not a touch screen.
Considering global tensions, keeping analog services feels like infrastructure redundancy. Not just for the elderly, but as fallback systems in case digital ones get compromised.
Some technologies (landlines, am/fm bands) worth preserving, even they seem outdated
