dunno about that. I disagree, even! there's only so much that can be said about the Oscars without it becoming white noise. you, however, either write about things or in ways no-one else does. that's a deeper understanding to me.

To be clear, I think there are lots of reasons to think about/be interested in the Oscars. My last column was about the Oscars! It just seems like the actual results are sort of a weird mix of corrupt, fake, and arbitrary. Oh god I’m describing sports
