Curly girl here.
I use cheap Pantene conditioner, shampoo as rarely as possible. I started using (and love!) NoU brand leave-in conditioner. I "plop" w/ cotton fabric or t-shirt, then air dry. No hair dryer, no diffuser, no hairbrush.
Try a bunch of stuff til you find what works for you.
I recognise that routine, it's also my winter one, except I use no product at all, just hot water (with a cold shock at the end) whenever we're out of daylight savings.
I've not really tried it with long hair though, so I guess I'll see if I become a curly beast next (northern hemisphere) winter.
Nah not really! I have one and I only use it occasionally. Best way to dry is with one of those microfiber hair wraps or just by tying it up in a t shirt
That's what my curly-girl partner does, wraps it in an old t-shirt for a while and then lets it down and shapes it. Sometimes she uses clips while air-drying to help give it some loft.
When mine was long and curly I never did anything but wash it and let it air dry.

Also look up how to “plop”
Get a VERY light product for your curls - a gel will be too heavy for your hair
But honestly air drying works too!
