I think it would’ve been cool if Scythe of Vitur was a 3-Part Drop like Araxxor from RS3. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it isn’t because that’d be a ton of time for a scythe. I just think the grind for this really nice weapon falls purely on ToB clutching it with the drop rate it has. - ThreadSky

Its ironic because quite a few people want it the opposite way in RS3. Rolling for that one big item is way more hype and getting a fragmented piece ruins the enjoyment since you need to luck out 2 more times especially on an Ironman. Personally I like the OSRS approach more for certain bosses.

I love rolling for that one big item. The only thing I don’t like about fragmented pieces is how many possible pieces. I can manage 3 pieces to make a powerful weapon. But something like the Venator Bow requiring 5 shards to make isn’t something I like. There’s definitely pros and cons to both.

That's exactly the issue with Venator Bow and that's probably why a lot of people don't naturally gravitate towards that boss. Personally not the biggest fan of fragmented pieces but that's just a me thing where I have flashbacks of early RS2 with GWD release and trying to get a Godsword.

I think the issue with RS2’s GWD is that godsword shards were all the same drop rate, but the hilts were 1/585 or so, depending on the boss (?), making a godsword a nightmare. If it was all the same drop rate, it’d be a little bit nicer to grind fragmented pieces. Maybe.

Oh I know, on release it was a pain. Still not as bad as on release Barrows but still up there. Though most people don't remember that.
