"he was bullied at school"- bullshit, he went to a private school with a bunch of other snobs who would vote for his mum.
"Police don't know where he sourced the drugs" -is his dealer under surveillance
We shouldn't have any sympathy here. He likely avoided prison due to his profile and connections
Community service and home detention. Obviously the right colour, right postcode, right bank balance, right networks. How many lives and their families destroyed by the drugs he sold? Another example of the two sides of justice.
Alright for some..with the right connections! What a dickhead.
“His undoing came early last year, when he sold “premium grade cocaine”, “premium imported European MDMA” and “limited edition meth” across 18 different transactions to an undercover police officer.”
Surely it should be a condition of his lenient sentencing that he reveals the source of his drug supply
One law for the rich
Anyone else would be in high security long term prison
I think he would have got his own Lawyer, he’s 38 lives in a multimillion dollar home ect
Should have been locked up for longer than the 18 months time served in remand
This makes the recent Drugs Commission even more of a farce
They were quick to take decriminalising drugs off the table I don't know if I totally agree with that but it does open up addiction to be treated as a medical problem rather than a crime
Meanwhile this guy gets less time than some addicts
...did she cry because he was caught or because she recognized that she was a failure as a parent or because she will have to put up with him being 'at home' for 18 months?
Don't visit the sins of the son on the mother - regardless of sentencing would there have been a full page article in the SMH if his mother wasn't - at one time no longer - a politician? Separate issues here and I don't see much compassion for a mother here.
1. Focus should be on criminal
2. When indigenous kids get time for a bit of cannabis, this well educated, presumably well brought up bloke, gets a tap on the hand.
Click bait That's how the MSM works They aren't interested in writing balanced or factual articles Rage & controversy = clicks or more Social Media exposure #ObjectiveAchieved
