Sometimes a funny name just endears you to people more!
This is Ima Hogg, known as "The First Lady of Texas."
Ima was a socialite and philanthropist, and one of the most respected women in Texas during the 20th century (according to Wikipedia.)
My seventh grade math teacher had "Justin Case" on his school badge. I think there was a rumor going around saying that wasn't his real first name though, he did to be funny.
Thereβs a very funny novel called The Horse Is Dead and one of the characters in it named their two children βNurseβ and βDoctorβ so they would have jobs later on in life.π
Also funny true story.. my Hs Librarian was Mr. Case. His wife was Gr11 English teacher. 2 kids. Justin. And Claire. Running adolescent joke was daughter's middle name was "Inet"
Also, he was a misogynistic twat.
To be clear MR Case was misogynistic. Justin Case? Different school, position unclear. Hopeful for seething rage and oppositional values given the naming miscue?
AITA for finding stuff like this to be kinda cruel? I mean, itβs cute for a dog, but kids are cruel enough to each other at school without any name game BS. To say nothing about living your whole life with a pun as your name.
Itβs really sad what parents do to their kids without giving thought as to what is going to happen later in life to these poor kids. One of the students I had a class with in school was Crystal Clearwater.
I knew a guy who named his kid Justin Time ... this guy was literally strangling the mother when she went into labor ... Justin Time ... great guy π
Just as silly as half the stuff I think up. The bluntness of it reminds me of a comic I saw about 'a brush with death on vacation', depicting Death holding a broom.
My name is Justin Paradis (can be pronounced as Paradise). On more than one occasion, people have come up to me asking if I knew my name was Justin Paradis.
I asked my parents if they considered that. It did not occur to them.
I SHIT YOU NOT my husband and his friend told me stories for YEARS about their high school friend Justin Case and just about 4 years ago they finally slipped up and I figured out that they'd been messing with me basically since I've known them!!!
In the early β70βs when I was in the army, my unit commander, Capt Case claimed to have named his new born son Justin. True story from my end but I question the veracity of half of the story
One of my best friends from HS had the last name Case. First time I met his brother I said, βYouβre Justin, right?β Neither of them got the joke.

I always felt it was cruel to their son Justin. His friends called him JT.
Mrs Case should have also had a daughter and named her Jewel.
I did also meet a woman named Chastity Quivers. That entertained me
Also, he was a misogynistic twat.
Clarification duly noted.
I asked my parents if they considered that. It did not occur to them.
Knew a Charles Brown and a Nathan Frank. They got accused of prank calling all the time.
Don't argue with her, either.
(Yep, I'm pretty gullible π)
I let it slide and we remained friends.
