During Q1 2025, the number of canceled, paused, and slowed projects jumped significantly compared to 2024.

By our count, investments in clean energy manufacturing projects slowed in Q1 2025 at 2.7 times the rate they were slowing during 2024. 🔌💡🔌🚗

Last month, the controversial $2.4 billion Gotion lithium-ion battery cathode factory in Big Rapids was paused. If it moves forward, the factory would create 2,350 jobs.

Amprius Technology’s planned battery cell factory in Brighton, Colorado has been paused. The $190 million factory was projected to create 332 jobs.

Despite the slow down, many project continue to advance. Since Trump took office, 26 projects adding up to $10.5 billion in investment and 17,337 jobs have move forward (securing financing or moving into construction, operation, etc.)
