Also realising that in order to play an upgraded version of a game with the disc for an earlier version (TLOU2 to Remastered for example), requires an internet connection for authentication.

It's a problem regardless of offline mode or console set to primary.

Oh, agreed 100%. Even if offline mode allows for huge swaths of single player games to work, the fact that this made headlines specifically because people couldn’t play the games they wanted to is an issue.

Yep. If it was only a matter of MP games not being playable (it happens and we have to accept these issues will occur now and again) for a short time it wouldn't be a big deal, everyone can kill time with SP for a bit. But games with no online component being affected is a big flaw that needs fixing

I can't even wrap my head around the authentication problem? Not sure why a game that's already installed needs to be authenticated every time it's booted up, even if it is from an older versions disc. It's on the damn system in the first place
