Years ago--like in the 90s--I remember reading a book by a columnist outlining how the then-GOP's ultimate goal was apparently to turn us into a nation like Brazil. The government is run on the people’s money to serve the people. Yes, it should be effective & efficient … but it shouldn’t take away services we want and pay for unless they can provide these services as well w/ fewer people.
