Short term, it put Watergate in the rear view mirror.
In the long term, it tells Authoritarians that democracy does not fully believe in the rule of law.
While the cartoon is funny, it’s not accurate.
In reality the 2nd panel is more like:
“I’m also not a crook, no matter the evidence you have against me. You're just a woke, DEI, swamp creature, hell bent on making me look bad. 200% of you voted for me.
Just shut up and bow down to your God-King”.
