The interesting question, to me, RE presidential pardons is that it kinda calls into question the legitimacy of incarceration … how could incarceration be just & it be ok for the president to pardon? And if you are ok with some pardons, why not others?

The legal system might have no alternative but to convict, but in egregious cases an individual exercising judgment could pardon.
