And yet, the people at the top squeeze it for as much profit as they see.

Cutting artists, teachers, developers, hiring officers, whoever to minimize costs.

It unfortunately doesn’t matter to them if their product gets turned to meaningless slop, or the moral ramifications of abusing technology…

It doesn’t matter that AI eats so much energy we have Microsoft buying 3-Mile Island just to fuel their new energy demands.

It doesn’t matter that letting AI go loose has resulted in students using AI as a crutch.

What matters most for corporations, unfortunately, is next quarter’s earnings…

I see this trend everywhere now. With how the capitalist system is set up now, the optimal strategy is a race to the bottom.

I’m not sure where AI will create new jobs: the Internet and computers in general birthed entire industries, but where’s the burgeoning job market coming from AI?..

I’m very much not a communist- I think the issue stems from hyperfixation on short term gain over long term collapse, not the existence of corporations conceptually.

But executives are creating a dumber, sadder, grayer world with less opportunity and future because abusing AI tech is profitable…

The past few months have really tested my philosophy and ideology, but despite loving and hoping to make a living off new technology’s opportunities, I can’t help but feel more hopeless about the future, that whatever amazing thing humans make will be corrupted into a soulless money-making venture…

I can only hope that humanity’s future is bright, that whatever amazing accomplishments we achieve aren’t measured by monetary gain but by the mark we leave in the universe, and the benefit of all mankind, no matter their bank account…
