I thought the serotonin theory of depression was under a lot of critical scrutiny? Though obviously Secretary Brainworm isn't thinking that deeply about it

There are several drug classes and treatments for mental illness that have been consistently, scientifically shown to be effective, but where they still can’t totally figure out why. They don’t have the brain totally figured out yet. I can’t afford to care about anything but effectiveness & safety.
Thank you for providing that. I'm not sure why you thought asking a question for something I had not heard of before was "hostile" but after reading the article, I see that your comment above doesn't really make sense in the context of what you replied to.

Either way, I appreciate the chance to read about the study. It just doesn't really apply to the conversation bc the science clearly shows the efficacy of antidepressants and other drugs used to treat mental illness.
