Sadly I think you might be right, one of the points I was going to discuss was budgets… I can’t see us offering large for Guehi again but can’t help but feel we need another CB. That being said maybe the returning Botman resolves that

Hard to know, I'm less concerned about names and more concerned about the profile of the player. I'd be looking for:

- Young (21-24)
- Experience in top European league (ideally UEFA cup comp)
- Tidy ball playing right CB with elite passing
- Rapid recovery pace
- Strong aerially

That'd be ideal, although I feel like to get a player matching all them attributes we'd have to spend a canny wedge. Here's hoping!

Krafth's recent injury may mean we consider signing a CB in January. For me, Guehi isn't the answer though, at least not for the price we were quoted in the summer, & arguably not even for half that. What we do in January will also impact summer budgets. We may just hang tight, who knows?

We should have Lascelles back for the rest of the season not long after Botman returns, I can't see a CB unless it's the long term targets.
