There aren’t really any clips that show him pulling up before going out of bounds. But he did flop, not as bad as Josh Allen does on a regular basis though.

Yep, this is a classic "hate the game; not the player" scenario. If QBs are going to get super-protection, even when they're runners and aren't defenseless, I really want to see rules dissuading faking slides, going out of bounds, etc. But until then, I can't blame someone for taking advantage.

NFL could fix this - if the referee judges that the QB (or any ball-carrier) has "sent mixed signals" about giving himself up, ref can blow the play dead before the hit. He sees anything like a head fake, half a slide, any of that, blow the whistle, and the ball will be spotted by replay.

After all, if the QB starts to feint, there's no safe and legal way to hit him. If the defenders can't hit him safely and legally, the play has to be dead, just like if his helmet had come off. Otherwise RBs would take their helmet off and run loose, invincible because any hit on them is 15 yards.

But, there was no flag on the play he flopped. So, they DON'T flag ANYTHING against him.

But, I agree, he is going to get blasted (legally) if he keeps slowing up (again, because he has been hit hard a number of times in situations like that and they, correctly, weren't flagged).
