Such a mismanaged company. They have so many divisions with talented people, and they feel they should ALL be working on the same game. And then they outsource remastering to the cheapest companies possible.
Living up to the name. Once they get too big, they release an album only once in decade (if that) and use every one of those releases as an excuse tour ad nauseam. While releasing controversial remasters of their classics to cash in some more, naturally.
That's an apt analogy. It's also incredibly frustrating. I can't imagine anybody prefering today's Rockstar to what we had between 1999 and 2009. Hell, I would even settle for one game a year, like in 2011 - 2013.
The fact that they were able to profit off of GTA Online DLC for like a decade was probably the main culprit for this. Why bother investing time and effort into a new game when you can invest significantly less resources into something that will be nearly as profitable? Sucks, but understandable.
