It’s kinda frustrating that by the late 90s they weren’t shooting in HD at the same time.

Every single time I watch Michael Jordan to the Max and see that absolutely gorgeous footage of MJ’s final Bulls season, I wish we just got a *fraction* of that effort for all of the games.

And yeah, it was expensive. But think how valuable that footage would be now that something like YouTube exists.

That’s definitely a factor. There’s also a lot that just doesn’t exist anymore (or they can’t find it), particularly for games before the 70s.

I think the bigger issue is that they never figured out how to sell it in a simple way and don’t want to risk devaluing it.
