Meanwhile, I sat with about 50 other folks through every single minute of that 9-0 shellacking by the Thrashers in 2005. I think I'm just wired differently. (Though I got outta the parking lot quickly that night.)

100% we were always last to be out of our section, typically Doug Warf would come to our section to head back to his office (esp after losses in the dark days) & we'd commiserate. 😂Also did a ton of commiserating with our friend @southernhkychik.bsky.social + her hubby Steve. It was a tradition!
Back in the dark days you could pretty much have your pick of seats up in the nosebleeds. I often sat with friends of mine I had made in section 336, years after either of us stopped sitting in that section. 😂 (I *may* have gone up a price point sitting with them…)
And the days where the Canes gave Season Ticket Holders the oppty to buy deeply discounted tix to "share" with friends. Could buy all you wanted for cheap. Same with playoff strips!
Agreed! Sadly, I am no longer a STM, as I’ve moved back to my native Canada - but the friends I made as a result of being a longtime STM are friends for life. That’s why even in the “bad old days”, when the hockey wasn’t great, I still loved going to the games.
Yup. I don’t give up on my teams, even when times get tough. As evidenced by my being a Leafs fan 3/4 of my life, and sitting up on the 300 level of the RBC/PNC/now Lenovo (sometimes by myself in my section) during the non-playoff years. Makes it that much sweeter when they finally do succeed.
Understandable. I haven’t even left then, though it was always so tempting. Especially in 2019 when we were swept by Boston. I actually hung around longer than I usually did after the game because I was not ready for the playoffs to end. (I was having too much fun!)
Holla! We were the only folks left in our seats during the 9-0 shellacking by the Thrash! (Sec 304 first row) we were in seats 13 & 14 which are right on the red line & you can see directly into the runway to the lockeroom- Oh my the throwing of things when the game ended! 🤦🏽♀️We stayed til the horn!
I’m not saying who has better fans or better atmosphere. I’m only talking about the design of the arena which helps the noise. There are almost 11k 100 level seats, 2500 200 level, and close to 5k on the 300 level. The design of the building helps make the noise.
