I’ll add that leftists in real life, on the ground, look and act nothing like leftists who display their politics only on social media but are otherwise not engaged in community.

Yeah. I've been doing mutual aid organizing in Western NC for the last 7 or 8 years. It's amazing how many people you can engage who would never do so if we were more explicit about the anarchist nature of our work. Just do the work. You can argue about theory later.

As someone involved locally, I feel this. Online leftists have accused me of being a neo-lib because I'm more pragmatic in what I see as achievable goals, but I know what my beliefs are and what I do within my community. I don't need to prove a damn thing.

And approach this as a common sense approach, not a leftist approach not a socialist approach, but common sense that is the way to get through the most Americans and most Americans if you strip away, the labels will be on board with a lot of what leftists believe especially around class and wealth
