Remember when we switched to LED bulbs? π‘
It worked because government led the way. We can do the same with EVs.

Why get rid of all gas vehicles?
Northern Canada and -50 aren't kind to batteries.
Do we have fact based evidence that EVs can replace all vehicles in all parts of Canada right away?
Why make rules for <5% of Canadians that the 95% have to live by?
(also gas cars suffer in -50C which is also a made up temperate that most Canadians rarely if ever see... why not just say "they don't work at -272C!!!!!)
We need options.
Is there any way to find a Canadian made EV to get behind and innovate to build a better vehicle than Tesla?
There are already a lot of good non-US EV options in Canada. VW, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Nissan to name a few. More info here.

More people are choosing EV options - but not everyone wants one - yet
As their friends get them &they see them, the βkeeping up with the Jonesβsβ will kick in and more people will buy
Giving time for Canada to build up infrastructure & energy capacity
A few years later we sold our Volt for a Model 3 (BEV).
We've been to Florida and back, all over the eastern region, Quebec, etc.
The "red herrings" that people have are from people who has never lived with an EV. Once you actually live with an EV you realize they're great. They work, and all the random "tests"
I wouldn't say there's "no change" to the electricity bill but it's definitely
Realistically in the dead of winter if you leave your car plugged in at home and pre-heat it you can expect around 400-600kWh/month more in usage.
Keep the rebates, even increase them. Encourage those who can to switch - and let the market guide automakers. Government has a very poor record picking winners
The rest just gaslight and whine and cry without any just cause.
LED were always the "better choice" but wasn't realistic.
Think of it like Incandescent => CFL => LED :: Gas => Hybrid => Full Electric.
:-)
Replacing millions of 60W bulbs with [say] 10-13W CFLs saves millions of Wh per day of energy.
Replacing those with 5-10W LEDs (that ideally last longer) saves even more...
Imagine a ferry full of heavy dangerous EVs and just one catching fire.
EVs are not the way!
Todayβs conservatives appear captured.
We need an MP accountability act that can strip pensions & remove from office when warranted.
The dishonest and unethical behaviour of some is unreal.
We should review restrictions on dual citizens running for office too
Clean hydrogen is the way.
