When I had students, I often recommended this one in spite of being a descriptivist, myself. I'm all for knowing the rules so you can break them with intent.

Granted, I worked in a field where some of them might go on to submit things to peer review. At some point they'd likely encounter a stuffy reviewer, and I wanted them to feel empowered to rebuff or ignore when needed.
But in seriousness, no. Getting a new reviewer at that stage is a long process in one already fraught with delays. There's also a shortage of reviewers right now, not unrelated to broader labor issues in the US.
