Eatontown is in Monmouth County, OceanTownship (which is often confused with Ocean County, which is very red). Had a dozen or two people who threw rude comments and middle fingers at us, but overall a VERY supportive community. 💙

misleading, the largest population centers along the shore are ALL very blue. shore districts/counties have large INLAND population centers that drive their conservatism The actual coastal communities are made up of a) year round blue communities and b) seasonal communities with a few rich retirees

I was very troubled by the number of covid deaths in Ocean County, which seemed tied to conservative attitudes about masking and vaccinations. I believe Ocean County may have had some of the very highest Covid death rates in the country. Anecdotally, OC itself felt alarmingly trumpy last summer.

No you’re definitely correct. The population center of OC is Tom’s river, and most of Tom’s river is 20-30 minutes from the beach. That’s all I meant. As a Monmouth county resident, we consider “shore communities” as towns that like literally border the ocean. Like long branch, asbury, Belmar.

I was referring to Ocean City NJ as well as Ocean County, so may have added to confusion. Alarmed by trumpiness there, very different from how I remember the area growing up. Not to generalize.

Yes…..we are having another one in a couple of weeks. Take care of yourself….exercise, eat right and stay focused. We are only 7 weeks into the chaos of the next 4 years. Be well and protest.
