Everyone made fun of "Somehow, Palpatine returned" but it's become the basis of our political system.

Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo made it official today, releasing a 17-minute video announcing his run for NYC mayor.

Cuomo has dominated recent polls, but that could change now that other candidates, progressive groups and even the NYPost are aggressively going after his record.

I think the problem is Palpatine died. If old Empire personal we didn't see die where in The First Order, that makes sense. Especially if they kept their status post rebellion. But dead is kind of a big deal outside of absurd comedies

I suspect a lot of Cuomo’s support is name recognition. Once the campaign begins in earnest and his voters are reminded of his numerous flaws (and endorsement by spineless disappointment Ritchie Torres), that support will fade. Of course, Cuomo will have big money donors, but that can be overcome.
