As a kid playing Final Fantasy II on SNES (actually FFIV) I was immediately enthralled with Nobuo Uematsu's score - even on that 16 bit system. It wasn't my first video game, but the use of motif and themes blew my young mind and broadened my musical horizons.

There's a saying that goes something like "90% of everything is terrible." Opera and classical music gets the benefit of having had centuries to filter out the garbage, but rest assured that for every Mozart, there were dozens or hundreds of wannabes who couldn't make the cut.

I think anything related to video games often gets unnecessarily looked down upon.
There are games with the best acting performances, most compelling storylines, or most beautiful musical scores. But some people think that because it's from a video game it's less deserving of praise. Weird
