Learning about Symphonie Fantastique during music history class in college was a TRIP. Highly recommend. For anyone interested, he wrote a symphony as a gift fir his wife. And told a fictional story about him being hyped up on hallucinogenic drugs, killing her, and then getting his head chopped off.

I think thanks to the looping structure people can really get into Philip glass too. I’m not familiar with too much modern composition. I really like silent night by Kevin puts but its not readily available.

I know several games where the soundtrack is mostly or entirely comprised of classical music. That was actually part of the gimmick of one game, Eternal Sonata, a JRPG based on Chopin.

The other standouts off the top of my head are Catherine and Little King's Story, the latter being all classical.

Other recommendations: Saint-Saens's Danse Macabre is just incredible. Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite is amazing, particularly (to me) Op. 46 III. Anithra's Dance, and IV. In the Hall of the Mountain King.

And then there's Holst's entire Planets lineup.

Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition has some really good ones, too, my favorite being Baba Yaga. Tartini's Violin Sonata in G (Devil's Trill) is also a must-listen.

I literally do not have enough space to write about all the classical music I love (nor can I always remember it all lol).
