Okay, I'm struggling with the 500 million estimate for changing "exit signs" on the highway? This isn't serious, and frankly most this stuff is way exaggerated. FTR, I'm not defending anything Trump does.
It’s not just having new signs printed. The signs then have to be installed. This is road crews with crews blocking traffic. This is cranes etc. This is the disposal of the signs being removed etc. And much of the coastline where these signs would be is away From cities where the equipment would be.
It's not that each sign costs 5k. But to have a crew remove the old one, put the new one in, shut down a lane on the highway, disposal of the old sign, etc. Shit ain't cheap.
The signs alone are still fairly expensive, but yeah - look at the logistics of it all, and it’s just insane how one stupid marketing ploy could backfire.
Private sector time and money as well. International businesses have to figure out if they want to accommodate the change or not (and how) – oil companies amongst the biggest.
