It depends on how familiar you are with Plantagenet. Perhaps it's better to play at least one longer scenario. Once you're familiar with the Levy-Campaign cycle, the necessity of planning the Command deck and the research of the Acts of War deck, it should not be too hard to tackle other volumes!

Played Plantagenet around 40 times. All of the scenarios multiple times. I just heard that Almoravid and the other volumes are way more complex.

It's definitely not "way more complex" I don't think. They are after all in the same core system, that's one of the benefits of having a system! In your case, what will require some attention is to make sure you don't bring any rules from Plantagenet mistakenly, due to your familiarity.
