lol.. it's not that bad. It's wayyy easier than Gentoo or something. You might also like Guix. It's like NixOS, but uses scheme (a lisp dialect) instead of the nix language. It'd be easier if you have any prior experience with lisp.
Based on the recent official community surveys, the median amount of time people said it took to feel like they have an intermediate understanding of the ecosystem was 2 years. It's tough but you'll get there friend. :)
