Wait til i tell you about the water war that is pitting Mexico against the US & even against other Mexicans. In this case, the US *can* produce certain crops, but part of Mexico is keeping that water for itself, to the detriment of their fellow countrymen & American farmers. It’s wild.

And while we’re at it, the primary reason why anyone imports anything is because they cannot grow/produce at a scale that meets demand. Much less build up a surplus which drives down cost.
