I'm looking forward to him being a permanent part of my landscape. Saw him for the first time last year on a reccy mission to Eastbourne. I am hoping to call the area home on my return from 20 years in NZ. He is magnificent.

I just finished reading The Druid Path by Phillip Carr-Gomm. I looked the chalk giants he mentioned as I was reading and learned more about them. Fascinating.

One of my favorite things about the Longman is that from Samhain he is in shadow. The sun doesn't reach him and he dozes through the winter, quietly keeping guard . On the Spring equinox the sun shines on him again and he awakes again to the warming light, to see a beautiful, blossoming spring.
