I know where you're coming from. I'm making Scandinavian stars like crazy for 2 reasons - machine's in the shop and strip stash is overflowing.

I spent one summer doing stars and had so much fun playing with values. Time to start again! This time I will play by the rules and make them all look like stars. I like yours a lot.

Looking at your board again, I think I might do unsaturated stars on dark background, and then gradually shift to saturated stars on light background. Is that what you’re doing?

I like it - the mindless checkerboard is such a mindful way to sew a quilt. It’s pretty much my go-to method.
