hi they're jgeo, it's actually very true that landlords can dictate if you can have cats, and jobs have the right to fire you or refuse to hire you for literally any reason
If you have a therapist or can get one, you can have them give you documentation that your pet is an emotional support animal and cannot be held to any pet policies 😻🐶 (wishing you the best)
Bummer shit buddy, I'm currently trying to find a space for 5 cats (2 will be ESA, 2 I'll pay for, 1 is 7lbs and no one will notice her) so I feel you.
I’m also aghast that the new norm is forcing tenants to allow showings before they move.
Happened to me, and it incredibly invasive. I did get them to give me a 24 hour notice when I got very testy after telling me that they would “try” to give me a two hours notice.
I've never been in a house where the stink lingered after the humans moved out. Been in plenty where there were cats. You have to tear out the drywall and flooring to get rid of it, there's no other way.
As a cat lover, I don’t support it but I do understand it. Cats can be very destructive for a variety of reasons &, some behaviors can be damn near impossible to correct. My cats have zero interest in mice but are great getting bugs! I’m okay with this lol.
Unlocked memory about the HOA people giving my friends an angry notice because their grass was 1/2 inch too long and wasn’t uniform with houses around it.
(this was a reference to an old Internet meme where a Libertarian presidential primary results in Gary Johnson getting booed for saying on stage drivers licenses were NOT a form of government overreach)
(Libertarians, for all their "liberty or death" bluster, have mostly been running dogs for capital, providing mainstream conservatives with white papers and legal briefs for undermining things like the Voting Rights Act or the CFPB)
I got fired after having an ear pierced. The District Manager walked in, & out of the corner of my eye, I saw him roll back on his heels in shock. 😂 The union got me my job & back pay. 😁

Assuming you are from the U.S.
If I pay half my paycheck for them to do nothing, they can absorb fixing some scratches. They take it out of the deposit anyway.
Got to get in first, then do the lawfare.

No regulations means that they can do whatever they want.
