eh, there's an argument for making it default on, but it could lead to undesired outcomes. there's some people who aren't gonna bother writing alt text even if you force this option, so it's better the image is posted without rather than them just putting "image" or a keysmash in the description

I think this only works if someone uses official apps or website.

I have these settings on. Yet it didn't remind or require me to add Alt text when I posted via a third-party app.
