Yes. Allowing National to set the framework is not only counter to lefty principles, it's bad politics. Voters who want right leaning policies already have National to vote for; they don't need an ersatz right party. And left leaning voters will feel betrayed and vote elsewhere, or not at all

I know I've said it before. A lot. But as long as Labour point-blank, explicitly, proudly refuses to consider the option of *changing the political conversation* instead of pandering to National's frames and values, they will never win (until National screws the pooch and then they'll demand credit)

And now they have, they're busily maintaining Conservative policies and their popularity has crashed.
Following the National party (which is now really Act in disguise) ever rightward isn't going to cut it.
