My gardenia is blooming for the first time & I’ve named her Aaliyah. Her perfume is absolutely divine 😌!! It took me a few years to figure out just what she needed. So much of gardening/life is simple: don’t give up, just dust yourself off & try again, babygirl 🤍

My Mom had a gardenia off our back patio near Houston. I remember helping her plant it in 1974, just a 2' bush. That small gardenia grew over the next 15 years to 10 feet tall & 40 feet in circumference, & often had 100 blooms.
Her secret?
Almost every late morning, she'd toss... 2)
of that gardenia bush. We could smell the marvelous scent of gardenia from our neighbors' yards.
Fond Memories!
Up here in CO, I can't grow them outside...only in pots that must be moved inside Oct. 1 to June 1st 🙃😵💫
