I do highly appreciate and value the melody that you added in the video. It is a rare find for me.
However unlike for Haiku, senryuu is more free, and this is more a "convention" than a traditionally established rule, so I decided to leave it out 🥲
There are many changes culturally and I am not saying traditional Haiku is bad or should not be honored.
I think enlightenment is rare, makes Haiku special.
Also, Saijiki are more than 4 words long... So, be careful calling out people on their creative choices.
Yes and I would prefer to think it wasn't the intention,
But when you read back your comments, could you maybe see how it could be taken as such? 😅
Riiiiight so Mr Syd, I'm not sure if you got a chance to read my Japanese rant, but this was more along the lines of what I was getting at 😅
It's awesome that a lot of people already know about it, but for the people who don't, I just hope my little PSA may reach them and perhaps bring them even closer to Haiku! 💕
What I'm talking about is much more boring, namely what it is. It's a form that came from 連歌 which was a collaborative form, almost like a game, and each 句 (stanza) became a haiku.
The limitations force creativity the boundaries define it in telling you what it is not.
But I think it wouldn't hurt people to know a lil bit about what haikus actually are supposed to be. There's obviously more like about things like renga, chouka, kireji etc but... I think its a start!
