:( I make so many typos, but I guess that's a me problem
Whining about how a new platform - that only really took off last year - doesn't have all the stuff that much longer established platforms have is obnoxious.
Find my peace.
We just need to keep giving feedback on the things that we want in a constructive way that isn't being a little baby about it.
But you’re right, it’s tiresome because all everybody ever wants to do is complain.
At the end of the day, it isn't a feature that is either necessary nor integral to the experience of using social media.
A social platform does not by design need to allow its users to privately share images in DMs. That's something that came many years after Twitter's initial launch and now is seen as a necessity by users who didn't join until after its incorporation.
I frame it myself around server space. people dm'ing pics and vids would increase the amount of server space needed by a lot. an 'ad-less' space won't last forever, but the longer the servers stay small, the longer they don't need ads to pay for it.
Server space costs money, it's inevitable everywhere will end up there at some point.
But that is literally an image-hosting platform. Of course, it's going to support that function.
