The common "6-2-1" seems meme able and obvious but it is true - at least 6 hours of sleep, 2 meals, 1 shower a day.
Depending on the size of the con elevators will suck a lot or an absolute ton, expect waits and delays. Stairs when you can. You may need to ride elevators up to go down, cause
-going out every day for early food will get expensive and honestly the time saved is sometimes worth it! That said, this comes from a fursuiting perspective where we're scheduling in blocks of hours for that too. You'll have more open time, likely.
Definitely do look up some food places beforehand for walking to. If this a month out, might assume FWA? there should be plenty who know some options there. Eating from hotel concessions/restaurants nonstop is often more expensive for blah stuff.
Ummmm.... Bring a bag or backpack xD you'll be glad you did when shopping around. There's a lot to see so do make full passes of the shopping areas before you spend all your money immediately, hehe.
bring a backpack. there is nothing worse than buying stuff at the dealers den and immediately needing to carry it all the way back to your room in your hands
Be excited to see folks but try to plan to do as little with people as possible on the ahead of time scale. Cons are crazy and always stuff never lines up. So be spontaneous if a chance to do something ejth friends pops up
