The murder of Michael Stewart by the NYPD was the first protest I attended by myself with a friend. I was 12. I've never forgotten him. I believed that the police could be reformed then. Thankfully I grew up.

Sometimes i think people need some kind of permission to change their minds; to be told, “It doesn’t matter where you started; you can still get to where you’re truly needed.”
