I posted earlier... in Aviation, there is NO room for error! layoffs - earlier this month and then again today .... did anyone expect otherwise?
Also, FAA is not just ATC.. it consists of multiple departments ... from ATC to safety engineers, maintenance .. .etc !
Could well simply be challenging conditions on the ground: slippery runway, sudden and powerful gust of wind. The good news is Transport Canada will be conducting the investigation and therefore we should get an honest answer as to what happened. I can almost guarantee it wasnβt DEI
I've heard the dumpster hates the weather service, so I guess folks on the ground in Minnesota didn't get briefed on the hazardous conditions and weren't able to make a valid assessment, so those passengers were put in harm's way as a result.
You are corner that he definitely hates the weather service for two reasons: the hurricane sharpie incident and the nutjob owner of the Weather Channel is a big donor and supporter. So they want to privatize it.
Though, that most likely had nothing to do with this crash.
The βhard landingβ was in Toronto. Not sure what the American weather service would have had to do in this situation other than perhaps warning Delta not to take off.
How confident would you feel about winning a lottery where the chance was less than 2 in 100 000? Invert that and you get the risk, but not even bcs that doesnt account for most accidents not being on commercial planes
It's really cold and windy, and the snow just let up here in Southern Ontario. I'm wondering if the weather had anything to do with it. We've had winter warnings for driving, but I'm sure where you are. You don't get single digit highs.
I honestly am shocked airline stocks arenβt plummeting. Itβs true the market is divorced from actual, people seeing multiple place crashes and ticket sales are up
I decided not to go to hubby's upcoming family reunion in Nashville in July. It took Xanax (which I had to argue for) and my brother being on his death bed to get me in a plane last March. So I may be finished flying forever now
Well Kaylan, it didn't so much crash, it just flipped upon landing. Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help. I think it was pretty shitty in TO today. It certainly is here, about 1000 miles to the east
To add context, some areas in Canada have been having fierce winter storms.
Canada's largest city, Toronto, will need at least three weeks to clear the accumulated snow in the city.
Weather related.
Snow storms with intense winds.
Everyone survived, most are ok, 15 have injuries, one critical.
From the video it seems one wing is missing, possibly the wind pushed the wing to touch the ground causing the plane to flip.
The plane is upside down on the runway.
We donβt know what is safe anymore. My kids travel in their business, and it affects everyoneβs commerce as well. Iβm not getting on a plane. This is our political Chernobyl. When enough money is lost or people die, then perhaps someone will act. We are in a world of hurt.
Maybe the mechanics who do regular checks were let go?
Maybe the pilots were working βjust a few extra hoursβ because of a pilot shortage. Maybe an idiot subpar hire who doesnβt know the difference between L and gal fuelled the plane in MNβ¦
here i am thinking when this year i can go back to Japan for a few weeks and then suddenly there is a plane incident nearly every day since the orange shithead and Elon twatsack took over. seattle to tokyo is direct so i only need worry about getting off the ground in seattle and the return landing
Rightfully so!! I say we all stop flying until shit's straight!
Shut the whole system down for a couple days and the oligarchs and the rest of these idiots will pay attention!
We simply can't allow this kind of insanity.
My husband was talking about our plans for a summer vacation on Saturday and I was like, my love, we cannot make plans. For many reasons - itβs not safe to fly anywhere right now and things are going downhill so fucking fast who knows what will have happened by June. I could be in a camp by then
Actually.. Toronto airport has bad conditions right now to land in for any pilot. They were under Canadian air traffic control. This pilot tried landing in a hard crosswind in a blizzard.
Well now. Isnβt THIS interesting? Where is our Secretary of Transportation? No word from anyone in the White House? Just crickets? How safe are we all feeling with Elon & Doge in charge?

3 flights this week
This may my last flight for a long time .
You canβt βboth sidesβ the grief of losing someone you love.
Although Iβm sure they will try
TrumpAir is Musky

How many mishaps and deaths have we had in 27 days of FAA Excellence and Safety?
FAA is more than just ATC

I do expect more issues to pop up, since US ATC was already short staffed and now they fired the people who were in training. Musk & Trump are idiots.
Disclaimer: DEI is actually a good thing

all replaced by nepo babies
Scary s***

And I'm an atheist.
